KJV
Last week while away from home I awoke in the middle of the night not knowing exactly where I was. The immediate reaction was to arise and walk the path I was familiar with in our home in the dark. But before I walked into a wall or furniture I was not expecting to be where it was I remembered I was not at home and needed to wait for light before I began wondering in the dark. As my eyes began to adust and gather light I could find my way through that house without bumping into anything or tripping and falling down. It reminded me of the light we need to walk in this world of darkness and sin, a light that can come to those who seek it and wait for direction. Jesus said that He is the “Light of the world” in John 8:12 and John 9:5 and we find in 1 John 1:5 that in Him, in Christ there is no darkness at all. Do you need light this morning. I am looking out the window in front of my desk right now as darkness gives way to light but I also know that the light of this day will give way to darkness later on. There is a light however that will never go out, never needs replaced and will always guide us on our way. That light is Jesus Christ and His Word. Do you need light this morning? There is one and only one who can give to you the light that you need.
