Ruth 2:1-4 And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband’s, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz.
2 And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter.
3 And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech.
KJV
“Her hap was to light on a part of the field belonging to Boaz”. Was that an accident, was it by chance, or was it part of the plan and purpose of God? Ruth was directed to that part of the field by the hand of God. How do we know that? Lets look at the words of Ruth. (Ruth 1:16-17 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: 17 Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.) Ruth was determined to place her life in the hands of God. Ruth did not know the outcome when she went into a field that day to gather up what was missed but God did. That is true of all who will place their life in the capable hands of God. Do you have a relationship with God today through Jesus because you are born again? Why not then ask Him to guide your ever step, thought and word today? When Ruth did that it brought great reward and that will be true of the believer in Christ today as well.
