Ps 73:22-23 So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.
23 Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.
KJV
Nevertheless is a common word in the Bible and it points to the actions of a certain one despite the actions of another. Nevertheless is a great word when it applies to our God being with us continually even if we do something foolish as we see above. It does not mean God will ignore sin we fall into, or God will be pleased when we act foolishly, or that one has a license to sin.
(Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.) Sin always carries a price tag. But it does mean my God will never leave or forsake me. The faithfulness of God depends upon God and not on me and for that I am most thankful. Even when being chastened by the Lord because of foolish acts my God is willing to guide me back to truth and a walk with Him. Nevertheless is a good, good, good word as I think of my relationship with my God.
