July 3rd, 2025 by Pastor SolleyGal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
KJV
With our Independence Day tomorrow I have been thinking about the freedom we have, the liberty we have as citizens of this great nation. We are free, but that freedom still comes with limits that so many want to ignore or abolish today. We are not free to riot and destroy property, to loot and steal from others, to injure and harm the innocent, to incite, to burn and such things for our liberty does come with certain limits. The same with the liberty the born again believer has in Jesus Christ, that liberty comes with limits that are clear to see in the Word of God. We are not free to sin, not free to love the world, not free to ignore the needs of others, not free to serve self. Our liberty makes it possible for us to escape the bondage of sin and Satan and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. True liberty, true freedom comes with limits and we need to allow ourselves to be bound by them both as citizens of this great nation in which we live as well as the family of God that salvation in Christ makes us a part of.
