May 7th, 2025 by Pastor Solley2 Tim 1:5-6 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.
6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
KJV
Not only is the only Lois in the Bible found in this verse the only Eunice found in the Bible is in this verse as well. What can we say about this godly mother and grandmother? They had an unfeigned faith in the Lord Jesus Christ that was found in young Timothy as well. Something unfeigned is something that is real. Eunice did not play church, she lived for Jesus Christ. I have over the years listened as many mothers have wondered what happened to their children when they grew up and wondered away from spiritual things and the answer has been they were never brought to spiritual things. They were brought to church, brought to Sunday School, but it was never real to them because it was never real to mom. They were brought up in a house where church was important, Jesus was important, when there was nothing else going on. Whenever something came up church and spiritual things were set aside. They were brought up in an unfeigned faith. Eunice was real in her faith, real in her walk with the Lord, real in her commitment to the Lord and that was passed on to her son. If you have or had a mom that was real in the Lord praise God for her today. Mom, whatever else you do for your children, be real in the Lord.
