Neh 9:38 And because of all this we make a sure covenant, and write it; and our princes, Levites, and priests, seal unto it.

A sure covenant, a sure agreement, very few are found today. It seems as if the word of a person is absolutely no sure covenant today and even papers signed do not make a sure covenant. The reason for that is that agreements or covenants involve man and there are more willing to break the covenant than keep it. Not so with God for in the Bible we find many unconditional covenants, agreements that depend only upon our God keeping His Word. For example the covenant of His abiding presence for those who have received Jesus as their Savior. (Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.) The covenant of being held in His hand. (John 10:28-29 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.) The covenant of hearing our prayers. (Jer 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.) Yes covenants between men can be broken and often are but a covenant that depends upon God keeping His Word will never be broken for it is impossible for our God to lie. Praise God for His faithfulness to His promises today.
