Mal 1:1-2 The burden of the word of the Lord to Israel by Malachi.
2 I have loved you, saith the Lord. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? saith the Lord: yet I loved Jacob,
KJV
There are many questions recorded in the Bible and many we could say that just don’t make any sense. One of those questions is found in verse two above when Israel asked the Lord “Wherein hast thou loved us?” Redeemed from bondage in Egypt by blood, provided for in the wilderness, given victory in the Promised Land, a world power under David and Solomon, and many more things that could be named all because the Lord Loved them. Those things would have continued if they had just walked with the Lord. How could they ask such a question? But we often ask the same question today silently if not out loud. We need to take some time each day and think on the goodness of God to us, think of how much God and done for us as well as what God is doing for us day by day. Perhaps then we would be kept from asking silly questions ourselves.
