Deut 28:66 And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:
KJV
How terrible it would be to have to live in the conditions of Deut 28:66, to live in constant doubt and fear. Yet many people do live in just that condition. There is a cure when doubts and fears arise, when there is no assurance of life, there is a cure. That cure is not found in a doctors office, not in a bottle of pills, not in self esteem, not in alcohol or drugs. That cure is found in a person, in the Lord Jesus Christ. When I closed my eyes last evening it was with a perfect assurance, with no doubts, with no fear, for I knew and know my Lord loves me and that He stands near me. This world, this life, is not perfect but my Savior is and when I am there He is also. I thank Jesus this morning for the assurance of eternal life in Him. I thank Jesus that I never need doubt His love and care for me. I thank Jesus today for taking away fear and replacing it with perfect peace. How terrible it must be to live in the conditions of Deut 28:66 and how good it is to rest in the arms of Jesus today. (Deut 33:27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.) I would rather live in Deut 33:27.
