2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

The word wilderness is found over three hundred times in the Bible and I don’t know of anyone who thinks of the wilderness as a good thing. Yet we find in the Bible that God often works in great and mighty ways in the wilderness. God led Israel through the wilderness. God fed and provided for Israel in the wilderness. God gave Joshua great victories in the wilderness. God called David to be king out of the wilderness. God promised to make a way for Isaiah through the wilderness. John preached in the wilderness. Jesus fed the multitudes in the wilderness. God delivered Paul out of the wilderness. God has done great and mighty things in the wilderness. When we feel we are in the wilderness of life we must remember that God has done some of His greatest works in the wilderness. We are not forsaken or forgotten when in the wilderness for our God may be getting us ready to receive great and mighty things.
