Col 1:28-29 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

Perfect in Christ Jesus. What a goal to set! When we think of perfect we think of something without fault or flaw. When I was much younger and coaching baseball I would hear that practice makes perfect and I would change that old saying to “Perfect practice makes perfect”. Only perfection can make one perfect and that is how that Col 1:28 can and will become true one day. None of us are going to be perfect in this world, not as long as we have this sinful nature we are born with. But one day that nature will be gone, we will stand completely perfect before Jesus Christ because we stand in Jesus Christ. In the mean time we have something to strive for as Paul did. (Col 1:29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.) We will not reach that goal of absolute perfection in this world, but we can and should strive for it. Christ is in us today, the Holy Ghost is within us today, and both are able to give us victory over our flesh, over the world, over the enemy we face, so we need to strive for the perfection that will be ours one day. Strive to be perfect today.
