1 Cor 2:4-5 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
KJV
The word demonstration is found only here in the Bible and we see a demonstration of Spirit and of power. The word demonstration means the action of showing the existence of truth of something by giving proof or evidence. The Greek word, also found only one time in the Bible, means to make something known. The Bible speaks here of a demonstration of power, but what power? The power of God in the world and that power seen through the child of God in such a way that it cannot be denied. Are you demonstrating that power today? You should be and you can be and in such a way that it draws the lost to Jesus Christ the same way a moth is drawn to a flame. We will look at some demonstrations of that power this week and from some very unlikely sources in the eyes of man. Today consider Moses whom the Bible calls the meekest man in the earth. (Num 12:3 Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.) Moses was not one you would choose for a leader. A shepherd in the wilderness, by his own testimony unable to speak and lacking in self assurance. Yet the power of God was demonstrated in Moses in a great a mighty way, so mighty an entire nation was brought to its knees and another followed him to places they would never have thought to go. What was in Moses? The power of God. How did Moses get that power? Simply by yielding to God, saying yes to God, being willing to be used by God. Have you yielded to God in first receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior? That is the first step. Are you will to say yes to God and turn from self, sin and world, unto Jesus Christ today? That is the first step. Another unlikely demonstration of power tomorrow.
