Rom 13:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

Another to whom honor is due from me as I look back on my life is Thomas Baker. He was one that helped me in my walk with the Lord and as a pastor as well. He was an evangelist, a pastor, and president of the Bible institute I attended. One who as a young pastor I could call and ask for advice. That advice was not always what I wanted to hear but was always based on the Word of God and what I needed to hear. It is good to have one that will give wise counsel when needed. (Prov 24:6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.) Now as an older pastor I have younger men calling and asking me for advice and I try and give it based first on the Word of God. I can still remember the message he brought that moved me to surrendering my life to the will of God and the verse that has changed my life. (John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.) I thank the Lord today for putting such men in my life.
