I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.
All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O Lord, when they hear the words of thy mouth.
Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the Lord: for great is the glory of the Lord.
Though the Lord be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Many are the Psalms that it would be good to commit to our memory and this is just one of them. How many times do we stand with David in verse seven of this Psalm? It seems today that most of God’s people are walking in the midst of trouble and we need the help of our Lord and God. Praise Him for that help is never far off. Verse three of our reading for today is the key that turns trouble into revival, cry unto the Lord, cry out to our Lord. But why wait for the trouble to come? Why not cry out to the Lord always, why not pray without ceasing, why not pray about everything all of the time? I find that the more things I pray about the less trouble I seem to get myself into. Why not ask our Lord to guide every step that we take? Why not ask for God’s wisdom in every decision we make? Why not seek Him with our whole heart? When we do that we find ourselves with David in the first verse of this beautiful Psalm.
