Daily Devotions

Deut 32:1-4 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:
3 Because I will publish the name of the Lord: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.
4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

Rain is coming down here in my little corner of Pennsylvania and it reminds of these verses. God likens His doctrine, His Word to rain in verse two above. Like rain His Word comes down from heaven. Like rain His Word provides what is needed for man to survive. Like rain it does come down hard at times and like dew and small rain often times gentle and smooth. God’s Word, God’s doctrine always gives to us what is needed and in the way it is needed. He is my Rock today and I pray He is yours as well. His way is always perfect although I do not always understand it. He is a God of truth and there is no iniquity in Him at all. He is always just and right. Will you take some time to be in the rain today? I will be out and about and in the rain that is coming down outside but I will also take some time to allow the rain of the Word of God be poured out as well. Will you take some time to be in the rain today?
