Daily Devotions
January 11th, 2024 by Pastor SolleyCol 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
KJV
How many things do we do with all of our heart for the Lord? Heard a devotional on this at our last prayer breakfast and it has left an impression. Just how many things do I do for the Lord with all of my heart, how many things do I do heartily? Just how many things do I pour my heart, mind, and soul into? That is what the word means. As I read my Bible today will I do it heartily or will I become distracted with other thoughts and other things? When I pray will I do it heartily or will I become distracted with other thoughts and other things? As I visit people as a pastor will I do it heartily or will I want to get the visit over so I can go on to other things? I carry tracts with me, will I hand them our heartily or leave them in the car and my pocket? I see that word whatsoever and I know it takes in all but will I do all for the Lord heartily? Jesus Christ has poured His heart, soul, and mind into us and continues to do so. When I go to Him, when I call out to Him I don’t want just a small part to respond, I want Jesus to respond heartily to me. Doesn’t He deserve the same from me and you?
