Rev. 2:4
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
I have often wondered how this church could have left its first love so quickly, how they could have lost that love and zeal for Christ so quickly. That question is answered when I stop and look at my own life over the years. How easy it is to allow other things and people to come before the Lord in our own life. We say we love Jesus, but do we love Him as He deserves to be loved? Is your first thought of the day about the Lord? Is your last? How big a part of day the Lord? Do you talk of Jesus to others? Do others see Christ in you? Or is Jesus today wondering how you could have left your first love?
