Song 2:15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.
KJV
Very few messages are brought using Song of Solomon as a text and for those why study the Bible the reason is clear. But there are some verses in this book that speak volumes and sound alarms of warning for the child of God like the one above. How is Satan going to try and destroy your walk with God, interrupt your communion with God? It could be with a clear and obvious attack, one that you can see coming and stand ready to resist with the help of the Lord. But most often it will be with something small in the beginning, something we allow to slip into our lives almost unnoticed at first, something that begins to eat away at our spiritual lives and then ruins our present walk with the Lord. The little foxes above were so small they could go unnoticed as they slipped into the vineyard through small cracks in the wall or burrowed under through a hole so small it was unnoticed. But once inside they would snip off the tender shoots of the vines and soon the entire harbor was lost. Satan will try and slip into your life today in a way that seems to be harmless. That add that pops up on your phone, that program you watch, the conversations that you listen to and soon a little fox has slipped into your life. Beware of the little foxes that can lead you away from the Lord and destroy your spiritual walk. The Bible tells we are to give no place to the devil and that includes his little foxes. I want to look this week at how little foxes harmed the child of God using examples from the Bible. Beware today of little foxes.
