KJV
This the second time the phrase faithful saying is found in the Bible. But what is worthy of all acceptation? Consider he context. (1 Tim 4:8-11 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. 10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. 11 These things command and teach.) We ought to be, need to be paying more attention the spiritual needs and our spiritual life than the physical parts of life. I need to be working for and serving the Lord more than I pay attention to the physical parts of life for over time they all will change but Jesus and the needs of man never will. Nothing wrong with physical exercise and taking care of ones self and we should do that. But one must also understand that the spiritual is more important than the physical. No matter how good care I give to my body, no matter how much attention I pay to my health, it will one day fail and I will one day die. No matter how many things I acquire in this world through hard work, they will also fail and one day be left behind. But in can lay up treasure in heaven, I can work for and serve the Lord, I can pay attention to spiritual things that will last for eternity. Which of the two should I give the most attention? The answer is obvious and worthy of all acceptation.
