Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
KJV
Let us take another step on the Romans Road this morning. One will not be saved until he or she realizes they are lost in sin and we saw yesterday that all of sinned. Still one will not be saved until they know that sin will be punished by a holy and righteous God. We see now that the wages of sin is death. That death is more than just a physical death, it is a spiritual death as well and that leads to an eternal hell. (Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;) Hell is just as real as heaven as both have equal space in the Bible. We are all born in sin and all bound for hell and in and of ourselves there is nothing we can do about that. But we also find that Jesus went to that cross so He could die in our place and pay the price for our sin. (Rom 5:7-9 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.) Jesus died for sinners like me and Jesus is the answer for the sin problem. Sin is not cleansed by our good works, our good intentions or any church institution or individual. Sin is washed away only by the blood of Jesus Christ. Do you know Him today? If not seek Him because He is easily found.
