1 Thessalonians 5:1-6 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2?For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3?For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4?But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5?Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6?Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

I was preaching last Sunday on the signs of the times. It is impossible to live in America and not know it is the Christmas season. The signs are all around us. It should also be impossible for the Christian walking in the light of the Word of God not to know how near we are to the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. But have you noticed, and I am one of them, how many people leave their Christmas shopping to the very last minute? It is as if they didn’t know Christmas was coming. So shall it be with the return of the Lord. How many Christians live as if He will not return anytime soon? Yes they say they will get their lives in order soon, start serving the Lord soon, start living for the Lord soon, and all the while they never consider that Jesus Christ could rapture the church out this very day. How are you living before the Lord? It is according to the signs of the times? If Jesus would call us out today are you ready to stand before Him in judgment as to your works and service for Him? Will you be ashamed if He were to come today?
