Jer 5:26-27 For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.
27 As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.

As we were driving on our recent trip the GPS on my phone would sound an alert from time to time “Speed trap ahead” to warn of a policeman setting along the road to catch speeding cars. We saw more than one motorist pulled over getting a speeding ticket. One of two things happened, they did not obey the posted speed limit or they failed to heed a warning given them. Too bad we don’t have a book to warn us of the traps that Satan sets for us in this world to destroy the lives of men and women. But we do have a book that warns us of the traps that Satan sets and not only does the book we have warn us it gives directions as to how to escape the snares of the devil. But just as most people ignore the warning signs on the highway so do most people today ignore the Bible. Even if they do not ignore the Bible many refuse to obey the Bible. Why not just obey the warning signs and yield to the book? People who get speeding tickets often blame the police even though they have been warned. In the same way we can’t blame God when we find ourselves caught in an ever tightening snare of the devil because we have been warned. What we need to do is pay attention to the warning signs that have been given to us.
