Phil 2:15-16 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
KJV
I have been asked over the years if the Bible is relevant for today, if the Bible really has the answers for the needs of man in today’s world. Take this Scripture, written about 2,000 years ago and tell me if there has ever been a time it is more relevant or needed. It was given at a time when nations were perverse, when they were crooked and it was needed but has there ever been a time of more perversion than in our day, a time of more lies and deceit? What is needed today, who is needed today? People need Jesus and they need the Word of God and for them to have that Christians must stand out as lights in this world. We are to hold up the light of the gospel message, hold up that light of truth, hold up that light of hope. We are to be lights in this world. According to verse fifteen we are to be different and that difference is to be Christ in our lives.
