1 Corinthians 1:28-31 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29?That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30?But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31?That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

The base things of the world and the things which are despised. Do you realize that is who Jesus Christ came into the world to save? Are you glad that Jesus came to save those ones? Do you realize the Bible is talking about you and me? Many times as Christians we forget just who and what we are without Jesus, what we were before Jesus saved us, or what we would be if Jesus had not saved us. That one who has been forgiven much is the one who thanks much, who never forgets what and who he was before Jesus saved him and changed him from a child of darkness to a child of light, from a servant of Satan to a child of God. But that is what has been done for every born again believer in Jesus Christ. Why do we forget who and what we we would be without Christ? Why do we look down on others so? We have nothing to glory in apart from Jesus Christ. I think some Christians who were saved at an early age like myself and never really lived a lost lifestyle tend to forget what we would be without Him in our lives. I have never been an alcoholic, never been in jail, never been arrested, never have been on the skids. But I wonder if any of those things, or all of them would be true if I was not saved. It is important, especially at this time of year, to remember who Jesus came to seek and to save. Remember what Jesus saved you from.
