1 Thess 4:9-12 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
10 And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;
11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

These believers were also an example in their relationship and actions with both other born again believes and the lost. Paul had no reason to write to them about loving their brothers and sisters in Christ. (Verse 9) The epistle of I John would fit these ones for they had a genuine love one for another. They also loved others who were not so near and dear. (Verse 10) They were not busybodies but had genuine love that would move them to pray for and help those of like precious faith. They were a part of the family of God. They also had a love for the lost, a love for the lost as Jesus loved the lost. (Verse 12) Their walk in the Lord would help point the lost to Jesus Christ. For all of this they would be rewarded but that was not their motivation. They would love as Jesus loved and are an example for us today to do the same.
