July 11th, 2023 by Pastor SolleyPs 40:1-5 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.
4 Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
5 Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

Take some time to think about verse five and the truth it holds for you this morning. Many are the trials we will face in this life, many are the disappointments, many are the questions that we will never have an answer for in this world. But when those seem to be overwhelming take time to consider the wonderful works of God. I will at times bow my head in prayer and instead of bringing requests before the throne of grace, which we are to do, I will just allow my mind to go back to childhood and then come down through the years giving thanks for all that my Savior has done for me. The home I grew up in, parents, sister, grandparents and the like and thank the Lord for the love that was in that home. For the good times of childhood and then how God protected me through teen years. For the helpmeet God provided for me and all my wife means to me. For our children and grandchildren. For provision and protection through the years. For church and church family. Naming one after another the wonderful works of God takes hours but when I finish I find that any disappointments I seem to have had, any hard questions that have not been answered do no compar to the wonderful works of God.
