July 5th, 2023 by Pastor SolleyJohn 8:32-36 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
KJV
I hope all had a very happy fourth of July yesterday and thanked the Lord for the freedom we have in these United States. One way to assure we keep these freedoms is not to forget what was before. This is hard for our generations today because we were born free and most of us did not fight at all to remain free. Not so with our freedom we have in Jesus Christ. We can remember what it was to be lost, to be in bondage to Satan and sin. We can remember the fear of death and hell. Those things should not be the focus of our attention and at the same time we should never forget what it was to be apart from Jesus Christ and His love. To forget what we once were can lead us back to bondage. We can never lose our salvation but we can return to a life ruled by our flesh and not the Spirt of God. Thank Jesus today for your salvation if you are saved, thank Him for forgiving your sin, thank Him for a home in heaven waiting for you, thank Him for new life, thank Him that you are free in the Son of God. Thank Him often so you don’t forget.
