David knew that even as he felt so all alone that His God was listening for his voice and watching over him. I can remember when our children were very young and they would for some reason or another be afraid when they were lying down to go to sleep. “Stay here” would be the request and it would be answered and at times one of us would be sure to be there when they awoke in the morning. It was a joy to let them know they were not alone. Our God is there in the night time hours listening to our prayers and our God is there when we awake in the morning or in the night, He never leaves us alone. God may seem far away but our God is always near.
