Daily Devotions

Matt 15:28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

To what end was this woman praying? For sure for her daughter to be healed and the demon cast out. But what beyond that? Was her prayer for the present alone or was she looking far ahead? I believe the latter and that her prayer would include a life given to and lived for the Lord Jesus Christ. For the demon to be cast out would be a great miracle and that was the immediate need. But for her daughter to live for Jesus Christ, to serve Him, and to have treasures laid up in heaven would be even greater. I believe the prayers of this mother went beyond the moment. I know my own mother prayed for immediate needs in my life. I also know that her prayers went far ahead praying that I would be found serving the Lord. To what end are you praying for your children today?
