November 15th, 2010 by Pastor SolleyHebrews 2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. 18?For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
Who are the brethren of Christ. (Verse 17) We are Christian. Stop and think about that for a moment. Brethren of Christ. And He was made like unto us. Next time you think no one understands, no one has gone through what you are going through stop and think of this truth. Like unto His brethren. Jesus does know and understand and what is more Jesus went through all that we do int his world.
(Verse 18) The reason He ia able to succour us is because He has gone before us. He has known the joy of life, the sorrow of life. He has known the temptations of this life, the trials of this life. Jesus is able to help because He was made like unto His brethren. Like you I do not know what this day will hold. I have plans made, things I need to get done, things I want to do. But I do know this, that whatever comes my way I have one who is able to carry me through, I have one who was made like unto me to suffer and die for me and then to succour me in time of need. Jesus was made like unto His brethren. Let that truth carry you through this day.
