Neh 9:38 And because of all this we make a sure covenant, and write it; and our princes, Levites, and priests, seal unto it.

Are there any today who make sure covenants? A covenant is an agreement between two or more parties and they are made all of the time. But how many make sure covenants today? I watch the news on congressional hearings and see witness raise their hands and swear to tell the truth and then it comes out that they lied. I listen as elected officials swear to uphold and defend the constitution and do things directly against it. I have been a witness in court cases and listened as others have told blatant lies after swearing to tell the truth. Divorce courts are filled with men and women breaking a covenant. Are there any today who make sure covenants? One for sure and that one from all eternity has never lied or broken a covenant. Our God makes sure covenants, our God we can depend upon. The priests of Israel, the Levites, the princes and leaders all signed a covenant in the days of Nehemiah and it was a good thing. But that covenant was broken and it was not broken by God. Who can you depend upon today to keep a covenant? God and God alone. My point this morning being that we should trust the true and living God for He and He alone keeps His covenants. More on the covenants God keeps tomorrow.
