Luke 5:6-11 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.
8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.
9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:
10 And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.
11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

One more step of obedience for Peter this morning and that was to obey the command of Jesus to follow Him. Every step of the way in this passage Peter obeyed Jesus Christ. Jesus in the ship, thrust out a little, launch out into the deep, let down your nets, Peter obeyed. Each time he obeyed Peter became more useful for his savior. Now Peter would again obey and it would forever change his life for the better. Obedience to our God, to the Lord of our life is always a good thing and always a part of the plan and purpose of God for us today. Peter had a free will as we all do. Peter could have said no at any time. But Peter obeyed and Jesus was then able to use that man in His work. Do you want to be useful for the Lord Jesus Christ? The first step is obedience to His Word.
