February 24th, 2023 by Pastor Solley2 Cor 5:20-21 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
KJV
Why be concerned with being a good ambassador? Because of the one who appointed us and what He did for us. An ambassador today is appointed by the head of the nation he or she will represent. The ambassadors of the United States of America are appointed by the President of the United States of America. As born again believers in Christ we have been appointed to be ambassadors as well and the one who appointed us is far greater than any world leader past, present or future. No President that I know of gave his life so an ambassador could be appointed. But Jesus Christ gave His life in order to appoint us as His ambassadors. No President that I know of gave up his home so an ambassador could be appointed. But Jesus Christ left His home in heaven in order to appoint us as His ambassador. No President that I know of was willing to be mocked and scorned, tortured and abused, so an ambassador could be appointed. But Jesus Christ was willing to suffer for us so we could be His ambassadors. Jesus was willing to give all for us and offer salvation to all who would turn to Him in faith. Is it then too much that we would care enough for Him to be a good ambassador? The ambassadors sitting and representing the United States today consider the position an honor. Should we consider our position as ambassadors for Christ any less an honor? I think not.
