Isa 43:1-4 But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
3 For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
KJV
I have been reading from this passage of Scripture often it seems lately and meditating upon it even more times than reading from Isaiah forty three. How precious are the promises we read in these verses to the child of God? We are not as Christians Israel to whom this passage was written but we have the same God and the same savior. The difference is that Israel for this present time has rejected Jesus and we as are born again believers have received Him. Not every promise of the Old Testament is ours but many of them, including the promises made in verse two above our ours as well. (Heb 13:5-6 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.) Often we find ourselves in deep waters of despair, walking through fiery trials in this world, but we never walk alone, His promises are true and sure. How thankful we can be even in times of trouble and trial that He is walking with us, that we are never alone. You are precious to Jesus dear child of God, so precious that He gave His life for you and so precious that He will never leave you alone.
