One thing that is necessary to walk with the Lord, to serve the Lord is that we depend upon His power and strength and see our own weaknesses. Consider Samson and David. One depended upon his own strength, the other on the strength of the Lord. When Samson faced his enemies it was most always in his own strength, doing things his own way. Find one time in the life of Samson when you see him in prayer, when you see him seeking God. The only time is just before his dying act. But when David ran out to meet the giant it was in the strength of the Lord. One man knew he could do all things, the other knew he could do nothing apart from the Lord. One man knew defeat, the other victory. What made the difference between these two men? One thought himself capable of anything, the other knew he could do nothing. Think about that as you begin this day. Will you go in your own strength or in the strength and wisdom of the Lord? Perhaps there is an answer here for why so many professing Christians fail the Lord so often in their daily walk.
