Gen 3:14 And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

The serpent paid a price for allowing itself to be used of Satan but there is something that gets my attention here. After moving Eve to take of the fruit of the tree of life, after presenting itself as one who was trying to help Eve, the serpent disappears. Many times today Satan will use different ones to try and move us away from our God, from a walk with our God. They present themselves as one who is trying to help us perhaps, or one who only wants the best for us, one who can show us a better way than God’s way. But what happens after they are successful in moving us away from where we know we should be? They disappear just like the serpent in the Garden of Eden and we find ourselves alone and far off from God. Beware my brothers and sisters in Christ for Satan will surely set one in your path that seems to have your best interest in mind while all the time their main objective is to move you away from a right relationship and walk with God. Then like the serpent they will disappear after their work is done and you also will be left alone.
