Ps 93 The Lord reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.
2 Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.
3 The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.
4 The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.
5 Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O Lord, for ever.
KJV
There are times we may forget the truth that is set before us in verse two above “Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.” There is a song in our church hymn book that states “God is still on the throne.” He is my friend, God is still on the throne. With the direction our world is taking and especially our nation it can be easy to forget that truth, that His throne is established, that He is from everlasting, that He will be on the throne of all creation for ever and ever and ever and ever. What we need remember is that God is working out His plan and purpose for this world according to His Word and His time table. So what to do in times of personal distress and discouragement? What to do in times of doubt? What to do in dangerous times? Not only do we look to the truth presented in verse two above but we rest in the mighty God that we know, the God that is higher than the mountains and mightier that the waves of the troubled sea as we we find in verse four. We may not understand why God moves in the way He does but that is because God is everlasting and we are not. Trust in the everlasting God today.
