10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Psalm 84:11 is a verse I think of often when I pray. I think of this verse often when I am praying for others who are in need, for those who are ill, for those who have suffered an accident, for those who are nearing the end of this life, and for myself as well. I think of God’s protection as we see in the fist part of the verse. Our God is a sun and shield giving light to a sometimes dark path and protecting us along the way. I think of God’s grace in the middle part of the verse. How could we make it through even one day, a good day or a bad day, without the grace of God providing strength. I think of God’s provision in the last part of the verse and that most often. My Bible says that God will withhold no good thing from me as I walk with Him. That means all that God permits to come into my life, good or bad, is going to ultimately be good for me. That means all that God permits to touch my life, good or bad, is going to ultimately be good for me. Perhaps some things touch our lives to teach us to be patient as we wait on the Lord. Perhaps some things are for our correction as we need the chastening hand of the Lord to lead us back to Him. Perhaps some things are to provide us a testimony so we can be a help to others when they are in need. We may not at once understand all that touches us in this life but we can rest in the truth that God will withhold no good thing from us as we walk with Him.
