Rev 11:16-17 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,
17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

How far did the Psalmist see into the future when he wrote down the words of Psalm 79:13? There is coming a day when the children of God will give thanks to our Almighty God for ever and ever. Psalm 79 and Revelation 11 are separated by an uncountable number of years. Uncountable because we do not know the day of our death and uncountable because we do not know the day that Jesus will return and take us out of this sin cursed world. What we do know is that in heaven we will give thanks to our Savior for ever and ever. Why not do what the Psalmist did thousands of years ago and get started with praise and thanksgiving right now. As a pastor I get many calls from people asking for prayer as I should. I also should get calls from people praising God for answered prayer. The one greatly outnumbers the other and you can rightly guess which one. We need to stop and give thanks for what our God has done for us, what our God is doing for us, and even for what are God is going to do for us in the days ahead. Can you say that you are one if His pasture as the Psalmist did? If yes, stop and give Him thanks today and get a head start on eternity.
