Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: Say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: So will we render the calves of our lips. 3? Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: Neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: For in thee the fatherless findeth mercy. 4? I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: For mine anger is turned away from him.
Verse 4 of Hosea 14 sets forth perhaps the most wonderful truth contained in the Word of God. “I will love them freely”. How much do those words mean to you today? That God loves you without any merit on your part, that God loves you without expecting any payment from you, that God loves you freely! We are to love Him then, walk with Him then, obey Him then, serve Him then, but all those things follow after the love God has for us. And when those things are not present in our lives God loves us still. Loves us freely! Think of that truth today. God loves you, God loves you freely. With that truth before us can we but help praise His holy name?
