KJV
There are times when it is good to just stop and meditate upon the things of God. Not to allow our minds to go blank but to give our minds over to think about the things of God. So many things to do today, so many things to be concerned about and worry over today, so many decisions to make, where do in need to go, when will I get back and then what is the next thing? Our minds race are they are so filled with so many things. It does us good to shut everything off, everything down and just think about the things of the Lord, to meditate upon the Lord. But how often do we just stop and meditate upon the Lord and the good things of God? Jesus spent many long hours apart and alone with the Father. Were all those hour consumed with prayer request or could it be that some were spent in quiet communion with the Father just listening for that still small voice? All our communion with God, that is one meaning of the Hebrew word translated meditate in our text, does not need to be made up of our asking. Some, if not much should be made up of our thinking of the things of God, the goodness of God, of all that God has done for us. Take time to let you mind rest from the troubles and trials of life and give it over to the precepts of God. We need that rest as well.
