Ps 149:1-2 Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.
2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
KJV
Another reason not to be weary in well doing is the joy we can have in the Lord. Not only does God rejoice over those who do good as we saw yesterday but we can rejoice in the Lord. I can remember as a child the joy at seeing mom and dad when I had been good. I can also remember the lack of joy at seeing them when I had not been good. They were still my parents, I was still their son, but there was little joy when I had disobeyed. But I also could rejoice as they could also when I had been good. What better way to know the joy of the Lord than to be found walking in the light? 1 John chapter one puts that joy on display. (1 John 1:1-4 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.) That full joy comes as we walk in close fellowship with Jesus Christ and that is possible only when we are found doing what is good. Another reason not to become weary in well doing.
