2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
1 John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

As we noted yesterday that manner of love bestowed upon us produces a like love in us that brings about changes in us as we want to do what pleases our Lord and Savior because we love Him. It also moves us to do for Him, to serve Christ in deed and not just in tongue. Many are the ones I know who tell me just how much they love Jesus and yet they are not moved to do anything for Jesus. Many love Jesus so much they do not even walk into the church house on the Lord’s day. Many love Him so much they never speak of Him to others. Many love Him so much they do not read His Word or pray daily. Many love Him so much they have never been seen to work for Him. Yet some I know never shout how much they love Jesus but serve Him always. They are in the house of God, they witness to the lost of the love of Christ and His offer of salvation through His blood, they are always doing something in and around the church. Many are those who love in tongue and few who love in deed. But those who know what manner of love has been bestowed upon them are moved to love in deed and in truth.
