Job 40:1-2 Moreover the Lord answered Job, and said,
2 Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
KJV
God had another question for Job, are you able to instruct Me? Job was contending with God over the trials he was in and so God asks of Job “Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him?” Did Job know more than God? Was Job above God in knowledge and wisdom? That answer of course was no and it remains no when we think we are above God in knowledge and wisdom today. I have heard people say that “When I get to heaven I am going to ask God about this.” Will we? Will we have any more right to demand an answer from God in heaven than we do right now? Will we have gained so much knowledge that we have ascended above God? We need be careful here because that is one of the things that led to the fall of Satan. Perhaps God does know more than we do, perhaps God does all things well, perhaps we would be better off if we just trusted in Him. I don’t need the answer for every trial that comes along, I just need to trust in the Lord with all of my heart today.
