Num 11 4 And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? 5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: 6 But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.It is very difficult to stay faithful in a mixed multitude. As you follow this passage through you find Moses getting discouraged. But that is not a strange thing considering those with whom Moses traveled through the wilderness. Not all were faithful, not all were trusting, not all were of the Lord. When those around him began to complain it discouraged Moses. When some of them wanted to turn back it discouraged Moses. It is the same with us today in our Christian walk. A mixed multitude will wear one down and bring discouragement to the people of God. Surround yourself with those of like precious faith and those of like mind. Walk close to the Lord and trust in Him. You will find the times of discouragement easier to endure and find them getting shorter and farther between as well.
