Ps 103:1-2 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
KJV
Thinking of the truth of this Psalm this morning, of all the benefits of the Lord poured out freely upon us and how we at times easily forget them. It does one good to read all the verses of this Psalm especially when the storms of life seem to have arisen around us. It does one good to stop and count the blessings of God, it does one good to stop and praise Him, it does one good to just focus on the Lord and even to ask Him to help us not forget. What have you done for me lately seems to be the focus of people today. Well let us also apply that to the Lord and as we do we need to consider this as well. (Lam 3:22-23 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.) I received brand new blessings from the Lord yesterday and I am going to receive more today. It does one good to focus on the Lord and NOT forget all that He has done and is doing for us.
