June 22nd, 2022 by Pastor SolleyIsa 40:28-31 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
KJV
These verses which so many seem to know and we have been looking at this week begin with a question asked by God through the prophet Isaiah “Hast thou not known?” God throughout this chapter has revealed His power, wisdom, and authority to the nation of Israel. God is all and over all and the nation knew that. Yet Israel turned away from the Lord God and that brought them to the place that the youths were faint and weary, brought them to the place the young men would utterly fall. Once more the solution is to wait on the Lord. But that Hebrew word means more than to just wait on someone as we tend to think, it means more than having patience. It also means to be bound to someone or something by a cord, to be tied to them. Are you bound to the Lord today, are you tied to Jesus Christ today? He alone is the answer to the weariness you have. He alone is the answer to your fainting spells. He alone is the one who can pick you up. Why not bind yourself to Christ today?
