June 20th, 2022 by Pastor SolleyIsa 40:27-31 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the Lord, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
KJV
Where do you find comfort when you are discouraged? We know of all the places the world will look and we also know that none of those places have any real answers to the problems we may be having. So where do you look to find comfort when you are discouraged? Israel was to look to what they already knew, to the one they already knew, to the Lord. Notice that they felt is if their way was hid from the Lord. (Verse 27) That God didn’t know about their troubles or didn’t care about their troubles. This is a natural feeling if our prayers seem to go unanswered. So the prophet takes them back to what they knew and who they knew. (Verse 28) The prophet takes them back to the everlasting God. This is the message for today, remember the everlasting God, the creator of heaven and earth, the one who never faints and is never weary. Remember the God that is in control of and over all, remember the Lord. Verses 29 – 31 will never be true in our lives, never be real to us, until we remember and walk in the truth of verse 28. Many are struggling today but God has not changed. Many are weary today but God has not changed. Many may be ready to faint and give up today but God has not changed. Today, remember the Lord, the everlasting God.
