Isa 26:20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
KJV
What are some of the benefits of being shut in with God? Yesterday we saw that God shut Noah in the ark. What are some of the benefits of being shut in with God? 1. We can find refuge and joy when we are shut in with God. (Deut 33:27-29 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them. 28 Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew. 29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the Lord, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.) 2. Fear is removed when we are shut in with God. (Ps 46:2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;) 3. We find a safe path to follow when we are shut in with God. (Prov 3:23 Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.) 4. We find security when we are shut in with God. (John 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.) It seems to me that every professing believer in Christ ought to want to be shut in with Him and not shut Him out.
