Luke 10:38-42 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.
40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
KJV
It is the desire of Jesus to enter into every life, into every home. Here it is the home of Martha and Mary. And what was the purpose of Jesus entering into that home? Notice in verse 39 that He gave them His Word. Why? The Word of God makes a difference in every home. No matter how busy Jesus was, and this was a busy time in His earthly ministry, He was never so busy that an individual didn’t matter. You also matter to Jesus and His desire today remains the same, to enter into your life, into your home and make a difference. But do you want Him in your home and in your life? By the way people ignore Him, ignore His Word, and ignore His house that answer must be no. Perhaps that is why we are given the picture in Revelation chapter three of Jesus standing at the door and knocking and that door not opened. Our nation does not need more laws and regulations today. Our families do not need more opportunities and hand outs from government. Our children and grandchildren do not need more things to do or places to go. All each needs is Jesus and Jesus alone. His desire is to enter in, He stands knocking at the door. But how many will like Martha and Mary receive Him into their house?
