Ex 3:14-17 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
16 Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt:
17 And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.

Our Memorial Day is coming up, a national holiday when we remember all those who gave their lives in battle to secure and protect the freedoms we have here in America. With that in mind I want to consider the memorials found in the Bible. The first time the word memorial is found in the Bible is in verse fifteen above and here we find that God heard the cry of affliction that came from His people and sent one to deliver them. The man that God chose to being Israel out of Egypt was Moses and it was God that chose and sent Moses. (Verse fourteen.) Israel was always to remember that God sent one to deliver them because He heard their cry. We also can cry out to God to be delivered from any and all affliction and God will hear. Not only will God hear God has sent one to deliver. Deliver from the sin that condemns and afflicts us. Deliver from harm and danger. Deliver from fear and worry. Deliver from want and destruction. God will hear our cry and God has already sent one to deliver. Jesus Christ is the chosen one of God and the sent one to deliver any and all who call out to Him. Are you afflicted today? Cry out to God can depend upon Jesus. Depend upon Jesus to forgive your sin. Depend upon Jesus to protect and provide. Depend upon Jesus to guide. Depend upon Jesus and always remember you can call on Him. It is a memorial for ever and ever, depend upon Jesus.
